Alistair's 5!!

This past sunday I headed over to Charlestown for my little monkey's 5th (!!) birthday party. I was Isabel and Alistair's nanny on that lovely October day 5 years ago and was there the morning Alistair came home from the hospital... a teeny, tiny bundle of joy. I can't believe how time has flown. Both Isabel and Alistair are the sweetest siblings I know. They are just the best of friends and the happiest little people alive. My love for them is too big for words.

Little People: Good Times, Great Oldies

Finding this this picture of this house just brought me back to some of the happiest times of my childhood. My most favorite thing to do between the ages of 5-10 was play with my Fisher Price Little People.

Oh, nostalgia, how I love you so!

These Little People were better than any other toy out there. Better than Barbies, better than Popples (although I did LOVE my Popple), better than Easy Bake Oven.

And so, of course, I have spent approximately the past 45 minutes, searching the google images for all pictures of my beloved Little People and the parts to their little town. Below are the images I found that make me giddy with joy.

Because I always wanted to be a teacher.

This just made my week. I don't know if you played with Little People or not, but if you did hopefully it will make yours too!

School Picture Day

Today is school picture day for my little first graders.

I can't wait to see them all dressed in their finest.

American Girls

WHO remembers American Girl dolls?

Of course you do.

WHO loved their doll SO MUCH and wished they lived in the time period of said doll.

I DID.

Let's take a look back on the three original dolls from our childhood:

Kirsten Larson: 1854

Kirsten lived on the American frontier, immigrated from Sweden, and went to school in a one room school house. She wore sweet braids in her hair and a blue flowered dress and a red checkered bonnet. LOVE the olden days. I wish wish wish I lived in this time period. Oh the simple days-- livin' on the land.

Samantha Parkington: 1904

Samantha lived with Grandmary in a Victorian mahhhhnsion. She had an awesome 4-poster bed and beautiful golden locket. And she hung out with sweet Nellie and trickster Eddie Ryland.-- Had an super fancy wooden desk with an inkwell. Oh, feathers. How lovely.

Molly McIntire: 1943

Molly. Cute little freckle faced, glasses wearing Molly. Molly lived during the second World War. She wore pigtails in her hair and a traditional plaid jumper. A big dreamer, she was. Lively and loveable: a true American girl.

Which American girl doll did you love and cherish?

I had Kirsten. Meg had Samantha. Becca had Molly.

Oh, the good old days with classic American Girls.

A weekend with the Delta Chi guys...

I'm back!! Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to writing. We had a crazy college reminiscent weekend at Nick and Cait's wedding back at HWS and it was AWESOME. I honestly think it took me until this morning to fully recover. I had that much fun. But I'm back to normal now and it feels so good.

The Groom was one of Zan's fraternity brothers, so all of his pledge class came back for the event. I wasn't friends with most of these guys in college, but after this weekend I wish I was. They are a really great group and I found myself laughing almost the entire time. One for the memory books. Good times, good times.

Hung out at the old fraternity house...

Danced the night away at the wedding...

And got silly in the photo booth... I can't get enough of these!

HWS 2005: Reunion Weekend

This weekend is my 5 year college reunion.

WAIT a minute. Hold up.

Did I just say 5 years?

I did. I said 5 years.

Jeepers creepers.

Devastatingly, I couldn't make the event this year-- but to everyone who did, I hope it's an absolute blast. I don't see how it couldn't be.

Camp Ho Ho: the place dreams are made of.

In 2 weeks Zan and I will be heading up to Geneva for a wedding, so I do have that to look forward to! Aahh Seneca Lake in the summertime. There are few things better than that.

Flashback: The Wig.

I am literally crying right now I am laughing so hard. I just happened to be browsing PW's "happiness" photos for her recent photography contest and this photo was at the very top of the list. Besides this picture being hilariously funny on its own it reminded me of a night back in college when my friend Tracy found an old wig of her mothers and brought it to the Brickhouse for us ladies to play with. The memory made me giggle into hysterics and then I remembered that I still have the pictures! Thanks to Snapfish, the best of times have been preserved and are just waiting for moments like these to resurface.

And so, as I do realize you may have "had to have been there", I'm posting these because they're just too funny not to. I just can't help myself. I'm hoping these photos will bring giggles to you as well. Because who doesn't like to giggle like a little kid every once and a while? That's what I'm doing right now that's for sure.

Happy Birthday B!

I hope you and Kevin went out to a nice dinner with fine wine and tasty treats! Already planning my next weekend to Brooklyn. If I'm away too long my hands start to shake. Not even kidding.

Remember this pic? Summer at Skaneateles Lake...some of my most favorite memories. (I originally tried to steal some of the professional photos from the wedding, but the photographer wouldn't have it. Put some sort of block on the pics. Gosh darn.) I had so much fun looking through old pictures tonight for this post. Classic times we've had for sure.
